I wrote this song called “She’s Trying” about 3 years ago. I was deep in my feelings about being a business owner and feeling really defeated and I just remember at one point I was surrounded by all women. My wife, my sister in law, my mom and my friend Nadia. All trying to keep the bakery going and working endless hours. I’m talking 12-16 hours a day minimum. I was inspired because they showed more commitment and courage than I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m a big advocate for working smart which in my mind is still working hard but when you see both things come to fruition and you see an all female team making things work when they’ve got their own struggles at home and their own challenges. I just couldn’t ignore what was taking place. So I wrote this song. Here is a 30 second snippet.
